National Expo Showcases Post Frame Buildings

The whys and wherefores of post frame buildings construction in the United States are carefully laid out during meetings held at the Annual National Frame Building Expo. Entitled “The Framework for Success,” this year’s event was held February 18-20, 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky.  Held during offseason, the yearly gathering is sponsored by the National Frame Building Association.

Post Frame buildingsThe 2015 National Frame Building Expo included over 36 hours of industry education – management, sales, marketing, technical expertise, product knowledge, and more.  It included a 10-hour workshop on construction and safety, numerous presenters in the field of construction, compliance, business development, and crew training, and the opportunity to gain accreditation for post-frame builders.

Attending the Expo is also a great time to network. Architects and structural engineers, design and code professionals, lumber professionals, and a long line of others who are involved in post frame construction are on hand.

Great speakers made the 2015 event stand out.  Dave Dravecky, former Major League pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, explain the power of teamwork in his keynote address. A sampling of other speakers made participants in illumination. Topics such as The Lost Art of Drafting by Patrick McGuire, Not All Metal (Steel) is Created Equal by Don Switzer, Green Building by Daniel Hindman, Controlling Condensation by Michael Primavera, and Radiant Floor Heat by Scott Patton filled the schedule.

The National Frame Building Association represents professionals in the post-frame industry. The organization gathers and distributes resources, research, news, and education. Much information is available through their new website postframeadvantage.com.  The organization seeks to demonstrate the benefits of using post frame buildings for both agricultural and non-agricultural construction projects.
