Vehicle Maintenance Buildings in Every Size

Businesses and organizations responsible for vehicles appreciate owning maintenance buildings. Built to suit, these automotive shops help keep their fleets and mechanic shops running smoothly. When kept in good working order, the well-kept fleet will save a business thousands of dollars and untold grief. Likewise, any entrepreneur who is opening or upgrading an auto shop will be saving time on the floor by planning for an efficient vehicle maintenance facility.

Vehicle Maintenance

Preventative maintenance is the best way to improve the life cycle of a vehicle. This investment of time and money needed for vehicle maintenance avoids more costly repairs. Any maintenance schedule needs to be based upon the extent a vehicle is driven, what it is used for, and where it is stored.

Vehicle Inspections

Below we talk about basic inspections that can be performed readily in vehicle maintenance buildings and auto shops. Gone are the days of self-help. Today’s high-tech vehicles feature interconnected parts and vehicle engines, all boosted by sophisticated electronic systems. Mechanics regularly check the individual systems and examine the parts. Common checkpoints include:

Spark plugs, Drive belts, Timing belts, Chains, Windshield wipers, Air filters, Fluids and filters, and Coolant. Then there are the headlights and taillights. How about tire rotation, tire tread, and tire pressure? Vehicles feature hoses, fuses, serpentine belts, and other manufacturer’s part replacements.

And it’s always smart to keep vehicles clean. Regular washing and waxing, annually or biannually, help protect the paint and finish.

Unexpected Maintenance Problems

Unexpected services are necessary when any vehicle might break down. Tow trucks deliver these vehicles to shops and maintenance centers. If regular maintenance cannot avoid these uncomfortable situations, then drivers need to pay attention to common signs of trouble.

Mechanics need to investigate problems with the brakes at once. Normally, when an engine is having difficulty, the Check Engine turns on. The engine light means get to the repair shop right away, usually requiring a check of the entire computer system. Mechanics have the equipment to check on sluggish batteries also.

If a vehicle vibrates., stalls, or will not start, if the fuel efficiency craters, or if a vehicle lurches, a mechanic shop could save the day. Could a mechanics need to find the bad sensors or leaky fuel injectors, the problem with the transmission or do they need to balance the axles?

Periodically, professionals will inspect the steering system, shocks, and struts. They will lubricate the chassis and suspension systems and check the exhaust systems. The muffler and smog system may need help. A good shop will ensure clean air conditioning systems along with other functions.
