Just Build Me a Hunting Cabin in the Woods – Make it Cozy but Strong

Put me in the woods and let my heart sing by the campfire! Make my hunting cabin strong with steel and warm as a down comforter. Give us a place to listen to the birds sing and the wind blow and watch the wildlife scamper through.

Other times, the little log cabin makes for a fabulous weekend getaway. There we gather round the fire, read books, and tell stories. During autumn, we venture out to gather leaves for our press. My hunting cabin in the woods works good for fishing, too.

Look here—someone’s got their perfect cabin in the woods. Project #611369. It’s simple, colorful, strong, and so likeable. Lester Buildings manufactured this post-frame log cabin kit for Flathead Carports and Post-Frame and their client in Martin City, Montana. A happy pallet of the Barn Red and Rustic Wood color scheme pops with the sparkling winter white walls and ceiling.

Building on a basic 26-foot by 32-foot building, this log cabin in the woods makes nice use of 8-foot ceilings. The design features two bedrooms and a bath plus in upstairs bunk room. It eliminates the indoor fireplace, opting for an outdoor fire pit near the porch.

Creative Hunting Cabin Decor

Creative ingenuity – a fun aspect of designing cabins – came into play with this mountain home. The Barn Red metal roof and rustic log exterior sets the stage for the interior design. Inside you’ll find plenty of red plaid, spunky red cabinets, bold colored rugs and throws. There’s even a hot red chair. A sturdy red ladder accesses the bunk room in the loft area. Then there are the bright red metal chairs on the front porch.

Notice the easy-going rustic light fixtures. The simple cabin does not skimp on comfort. Central heat makes it nice and comfortable all winter and the ceiling fans move the air during warmer months.

These owners wanted their cabin ready for action during any season. They anchored the spicy red with the blue denim sofa, a couple of pieces in antique green. Then the golden yellow wood hues in the log furniture and shelving add a golden glimmer. It’s a mighty fine place to spend the holidays.
