Our FAQ’s

Below are a few of our most Frequently Asked Questions for Post Frame Buildings

Our Post Frame Construction FAQs

A: Custom Design Services: Collaborating with clients to create tailored designs that meet specific needs, whether for agricultural, commercial, residential, or recreational buildings.

Engineering and Planning: Ensuring that designs comply with local building codes and environmental regulations, providing structural integrity and safety.

Construction Management: Overseeing all aspects of the building process, from permitting to site preparation, and coordinating employees and subcontractors.

Materials Procurement: Sourcing high-quality materials from our long-time manufacturer that are suitable for our projects.

Interior and Exterior Finishing: Offering options for finishes that enhance aesthetics and functionality, such as siding, roofing, and interior layouts.

A: Post frame construction utilizes wooden posts (columns with engineered and treated lumber) to create a structural framework, allowing for greater flexibility in design and spacious interiors, compared to traditional stud framing/ foundations.

A: While obtaining multiple bids is a wise approach to understand the market and ensure you’re getting a fair price, it’s important to consider factors beyond just cost. We often reflect on the statement “What is your peace of mind worth?” Competitive bidding rewards to the lowest price and offers absolutely no advantage to good workmanship. Low bids may also not involve the same scope of work between companies. With Sapphire Construction, we are hired to complete every step of the project for our clients, from designing the structure to the final inspection and every step in-between. Often other companies will provide materials and labor and leave the rest to the homeowner.

A: It depends on the size of the project and your personal experience with construction, but many homeowners lack the experience necessary to act as a general contractor for their projects. We also offer a network of connections, so if we call in a Sub-Contractor (Trade Partner), you can be rest assured that they are high quality and not just the only available guy. Being a General Contractor is a job with a very high stress level and a full-time job. If you already have a day job, the level of time management required to be a General Contractor is just not available to you. Many homeowners mistakenly believe that being their own GC is going to save them time and money. You may start out with a project that is going to cost you less than hiring a GC, but it can quickly build. Your time is valuable as is your peace of mind. Why not save both and hire someone who can focus 100% on your project.

A: No. We need to be able to control the ordering process to ensure proper material style, size, hardware, and accessories are ordered. We also cannot offer you any warranty on materials we do not supply. It also helps us ensure materials are delivered on time and without damage.

A: We are often asked how long a build will take. The answer to that varies depending on the size and complexity of the project. Typically, a building which involves permitting, dirt work, electrical, insulation and interior finishes takes a minimum of three (3) months from start to completion.

A: To each of our clients we offer the same information- we have a list of projects that are put into order based on when your contract is signed. This scheduling system ensures fairness and allows every project, including yours, to receive our full dedicated attention. As one project is completed, we can move to the next and we provide detailed updates and work on having all aspects of the project lined up and ready for our crew to arrive.
