Sapphire Construction is uniquely characterized by the genuine attention we give to our clients.
Our Story
Sapphire Construction was founded in 1998 by Allen Randa, who began his career building custom homes throughout Elbert and Douglas counties. Allen has always had a passion for craftsmanship and a meticulous eye for detail. Over time, he recognized a growing need for high quality detached buildings such as garages, barns, shops, and other post frame structures. He shifted the company’s focus to meet that demand while holding onto the same standards that defined his homebuilding years.
As the company grew, Allen brought on AJ, our highly skilled foreman. AJ’s experience and reliability allowed Allen to confidently transition more projects to a capable crew while maintaining the same level of precision and care our customers expect. These values continue to guide every structure we build today.
Our Mission and Values
Our mission is simple:
“We build a relationship first, then your barn.”
The experience you have during the construction process matters just as much as the finished building. Our values shape every project:
- Honesty and Transparency
We give clear answers, set realistic expectations, and communicate openly. - Attention to Detail
Every structure is built with care, pride, and a focus on quality. - One Project at a Time
By dedicating our attention to each build, we ensure your project gets the focus it deserves.
These principles allow us to deliver results that match your vision and serve your property for decades.
Experience and Expertise
For the past 12 years, we have worked exclusively with Lester Buildings as a dealer. This relationship provides consistent engineering, dependable materials, and direct communication with the manufacturing and design teams. It allows us to streamline the process and avoid the delays and confusion that often come from mixing different suppliers.
Allen brings a unique combination of skills and experience, including:
- Building three personal post frame shops
- Years of experience as a master mechanic
- A farming background in Kansas, which gives practical insight into rural building needs
- Equestrian experience, including trail riding with his Arabian and Palomino horses
We have built structures for clients from many different backgrounds, including pilots, auto enthusiasts, horse trainers, alpaca breeders, yak farmers, and donkey rescuers. This variety has expanded our knowledge and helped us understand the specialized needs of each property type.
Client Relationships
Sapphire Construction is known for the genuine attention we give every client. Many of our projects come through referrals from customers who appreciated the care and communication they received.
We understand that the construction process can feel confusing or overwhelming, especially for first time builders. That is why we focus on:
- Clear, simple explanations
- Quick responses
- Consistent communication
- A direct line to the people actually managing your project
When you choose Sapphire Construction, you work directly with Allen and Taylor from start to finish. There are no confusing handoffs or layers of corporate structure. You always know who to call, and you always get answers from someone who knows your project inside and out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Located below are a few of our most Frequently Asked Questions for Post Frame Building Projects. Our full FAQs page is available by clicking here or on the button below.
What is design/build?
A: Custom Design Services: Collaborating with clients to create tailored designs that meet specific needs, whether for agricultural, commercial, residential, or recreational buildings.
How does post frame construction differ from traditional building methods?
A: Post frame construction utilizes wooden posts (columns with engineered and treated lumber) to create a structural framework, allowing for greater flexibility in design and spacious interiors, compared to traditional stud framing/ foundations.
Can I buy the materials and just have you install them?
A: No. We need to be able to control the ordering process to ensure proper material style, size, hardware, and accessories are ordered. We also cannot offer you any warranty on materials we do not supply. It also helps us ensure materials are delivered on time and without damage.
How long is my project going to take?
A: We are often asked how long a build will take. The answer to that varies depending on the size and complexity of the project. Typically, a building which involves permitting, dirt work, electrical, insulation and interior finishes takes a minimum of three (3) months from start to completion.
If the contract is signed, when can you start?
A: The first question we usually get from our clients after signing the contract is when we can start their project. We are excited to start, and we know you are as well. To each of our clients we offer the same information- we have a list of projects that are put into order based on when your contract is signed. As one project is completed, we can move to the next.
Q: Should I get multiple bids and pick the lowest price?
A: While obtaining multiple bids is a wise approach to understand the market and ensure you’re getting a fair price, it’s important to consider factors beyond just cost. We often reflect on the statement “What is your peace of mind worth?”
