Lester Buildings Systems – 5 Components

Lester Buildings SystemsInterested parties will be interested in these five important components that contribute to the superior quality of Lester pole buildings.

  1. Engineered Systems
  2. Foundations
  3. Engineered Lumber
  4. Framing Systems
  5. Steel Panels and Uni-Rib Steel

Engineered Systems

Lester Building Systems consist of systems within the building system. We call them systems because design and materials are highly engineered to achieve a goal. Components are individually picked to achieve strength, durability, flexibility, etc. Every board is graded, purlins and posts meet specified snow and wind loads, insulation varies according to specs. It’s a system because specs and materials are engineered to work together.

FoundationsLester Buildings Systems

Sapphire Buildings insures a strong foundation system, too. Our team generally helps prepare the building sites ahead of time and receives the whole building kit. We anchor our clients’ Lester Building Systems to a foundation or directly to the soil. In one Foundation System, the precast concrete footings and anchor blocks are set in the ground in a way that helps this place the building load as it passes through the column.

Another Foundations System bolts the columns to concrete foundations above ground while a third Foundation System supports rafters style construction, embedding columns into the ground. Regardless, the building will be exactly engineered to resist uplift and dangerous Colorado weather patterns.

Engineered Lumber

All lumber is graded. Each piece of wood is assigned an ID number, design values, moisture content, and a grade. It’s stamped and certified. Our three types of treated lumber provide excellent protection against wood rot, fungus, microbes, and critters and is compatible with standard hardware and steel cladding. In addition, we manufacture our engineered lumber in a controlled environment.

Framing

Proper has become a source of pride for us. Depending on the purpose of the building, our Interlocking Wall Systems may include the Continuous Girt System or Flush-Frame System. As necessary, we reinforce framing with Multi-Ply, Finger-Jointed Columns. The trusses feature a double-press system, precisely manufactured for each specific building.

Steel Panels

“Lester Building Systems uses grade 80 steel for both the Uni-Rib™ steel panel and the patented Eclipse Roof System™. We specify and test all layers of the steel panel (steel coil, protective coatings, paint and design).” (“Steel Panels – Pole Barn Building Materials – Lester Buildings”)

Thickness, tensile yield strength, and shape contribute to the strength of our steel panels. To enhance durability and appearance, the steel panels receive protective substrate coatings and paint systems. To top it off, we’ve developed the Uni-Rib™ Steel Panel. It’s the best choice for steel siding and through-fastened roofs.
