Colorado Outbuildings by Lester Buildings

One of our latest Colorado outbuildings by Lester Buildings, this purposeful project gives a pleasing look to our client’s property in Kiowa.  The sky-blue metal siding, accented with sand-colored wainscoting, plays off the peaceful Front Range surroundings.

Plain and simple, the spacious pole barn design adds decades of versatility to this real estate.  The building could be used for an RV garage, hobbies, hay and equipment storage, automotive shop, equestrian shelter, warehousing, and so forth.  Any owners could tailor the interior to suit the needs of the times.

The 2000 square foot building measures 40 feet by 50 feet.  It is 14 feet high.  Designed into the front is the main pedestrian entrance and a large overhead door.  There are two large windows on each side of the building.  The rear is a solid wall, suitable for holding a 40-foot workbench and tools, storing hay bales, and a myriad number of other purposes.

Kiowa and Elbert County, Colorado

Kiowa sits on the western edge of the high plains of Colorado. The community buckles down to endure occasional harsh winters, strong winds, and melt-offs as they pass through.  Located on the east side of Kiowa Creek, a tributary of the South Platte River, Kiowa suffered from major flooding about a century ago.   The elements dictate the necessity for smart, strong, and durable construction.

A farming and ranching community south of Denver, the town of Kiowa is county seat of Elbert County.  Home to only 25,000 people, Elbert County has been growing steadily.  Kiowa was named for the Kiowa people.  It is about 7 miles east of Elizabeth and 23 miles east of Castle Rock.  Colorado State Highway 86 passes through the town.

Lester Buildings – A Bit of History

Lester Buildings remains a privately held Minnesota company that continually re-invests in people, equipment and technologies to remain a market leader.  Each owner-partner is also a hands-on employee who values hard work, loyalty and respect.  The company makes use of three manufacturing facilities and a far-reaching dealer network.  Sapphire Construction, Inc. in Castle Rock, Colorado, offers Lester Buildings.

Lester’s of MN, Inc. was formed on April 1, 1947.  The company took over a Strand-Still franchise.  By 1954, the company transition to wood structures for agricultural and light commercial markets.  Through innovation, the company created the first Wingspan pole barn in the 1960s.

Butler Manufacturing Company, a distributor of grain bins and steel buildings, purchased Lester’s in 1986.  A Bonanza Buildings plant and increasing engineering capabilities boosted the company’s options to include large and complex buildings.  After selling off Butler, members of the management group purchased Lester Buildings.  Add earnest desire for excellence and modern technology and the company continues to lead the industry.
